ABSTRACT celebrates biomorphic form, as in Alvar Alto’s famous vase, Noguchi’s coffee table, Calder mobiles and the art constructions of Jean Arp.
Intriguing and beautiful, the legendary French actress, ARLETTY, starred in the poetic 1945 film, Children of Paradise.
BAMAKO’s irregular, carved-wood appearance is inspired by the same West African art that profoundly influenced mid-century Western design and art (Picasso, Braque).
FANTASIA is an exuberant arrangement of asymmetrical triangles.
Overlapping hexagons create FREE-STYLE’s crisp, quirky graphic pattern.
A kaleidoscopic repeat pattern of free-hand triangles, MOSAICO is reminiscent of the1920’s American folk art, shardware (a.k.a. “bits & pieces”).
Our second collection features the designs Bamako, Free-style and Mosaico in subtle bas-relief. We make each design in seven of the palest shades: Ivory, Wheat, Taupe, Gray, Blue, Aquamarine and Blush.
The Kilim collection features the designs Bamako, Free-style, Arletty, and Mosaico. Woven with straight sides and finished with warp fringe at the top and bottom in classic flat-woven tradition. The fringe may be left loose or carefully folded and sewn back.
